We had the honor to host
Dr. Carlos Minutti from Champalimaud Foundation, who gave a talk on
“Conventional Dendritic Cells – Ecology, Diversity, and Function”
Dr. Emanuel Wyler from Max Delbruck Center, who gave a talk on
“Spatial Investigations of Complex Human Hair Bearing Skin Organoids as a Novel Model for Herpes Simplex Virus 1 Infection in the Skin”
Dr. Carlos Minutti Short Bio
Carlos Minutti is Principal Investigator of the Immunoregulation Laboratory at the Champalimaud Foundation. His research explores how the ecology of conventional dendritic cells (cDCs) is centrally regulated in the bone marrow to meet the functional demands of tissues undergoing inflammation. He trained in Madrid, Edinburgh, and at The Francis Crick Institute, and his work has been published in Nature Immunology, Science Immunology, Immunity and Science. His lab is supported by an ERC Starting Grant, an EHA Kick-Off Grant, and a La Caixa Health Grant.
Dr. Emanuel Wyler Short Bio
Emanuel Wyler is a staff scientist at the BIMSB in the lab of RNA biology and posttranscriptional regulation led by Markus Landthaler. He investigates cellular and molecular processes in infectious diseases using high-throughput methods such as single-cell or spatial transcriptomics.
