The Nova Institute for Medical Systems Biology (NIMSB) commemorates its second anniversary this month, marking two years of scientific growth, institutional development, and collaborative progress. Since its establishment, the institute has continued to expand its research activities and strengthen its position within the scientific community.
Over this period, NIMSB has advanced numerous projects driven by curiosity-led inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration. The institute highlights the collective efforts of its researchers, technical personnel, and administrative staff as central to its achievements. Their expertise, commitment, and creativity have played a decisive role in shaping NIMSB’s trajectory and contributing to its scientific output.

NIMSB also expresses its appreciation to Universidade Nova de Lisboa, whose support has been fundamental since the institute’s inception. The university’s sustained confidence and institutional backing have enabled the development of NIMSB’s mission and the consolidation of its research agenda.
Looking ahead, the institute reaffirms its strategic objective of becoming a centre of excellence in precision medicine, aiming to advance knowledge, improve diagnostic tools, and contribute to more individualized therapeutic approaches.
As NIMSB enters its third year, it remains committed to strengthening its research programmes, expanding partnerships, and fostering a scientific environment conducive to innovation and discovery.
