The NIMSB Gender Equality and Inclusivity Plan underscores our commitment to create a culture that celebrates diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all, by recognizing diversity and inclusion as key element for driving innovation and excellence into research, education, and outreach.
The NIMSB Gender Equality and Inclusivity Plan outlines actionable strategies and initiatives aimed at eliminating barriers, promoting equity, and fostering a culture of belonging for everyone within our institute. Most of all, we aim to create an environment where individuals of all genders, backgrounds, and identities feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential. We firmly believe that diversity and inclusion are essential for advancing knowledge, driving positive societal change, and achieving our mission of excellence. Through our ongoing commitment to the Gender Equality and Inclusivity, we aspire to lead by example and inspire positive change.
The NIMSB Gender Equality and Inclusivity Plan includes a systematic monitoring process to oversee its implementation and ensure the sustainability of its activities, thereby ensuring its continuation beyond the duration of the project within which it was initially conceived.
NOVA University Lisbon has also implemented a Gender Equality Plan across all its schools, reaffirming its commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
This comprehensive plan comprises 10 measures designed to accomplish 44 objectives spread across five key dimensions, namely: promoting work-life balance and fostering an inclusive organizational culture, ensuring gender parity in leadership and decision-making roles, fostering gender equality in recruitment and career advancement opportunities, integrating the gender equality perspective into research and teaching content, and implementing measures to combat gender-based violence, including sexual harassment.
