Vânia Pobre

Vânia Pobre completed her PhD in Molecular Biology from Nova University of Lisbon in 2012. During her postdoc she shifted her focus to RNA bioinformatics with a strong focus on transcriptomics data analysis. She applied her dual knowledge of being both an experimental and a computational biologist to study the roles of exoribonucleases and small non-coding RNAs in the control of gene expression. She further specialized on discovering novel non-coding RNAs from RNA-Seq data. She also expanded her knowledge to include whole genome data analysis.

Currently Vânia is a Researcher at NOVA IMSB. Her work is to provide genomic and transcriptomic data analysis to any researcher within NOVA IMSB.
