Filipa G. Marques is the Senior Executive Assistant to the Executive Board at the NOVA Institute for Medical Systems Biology (NOVA IMSB), where she supports institutional governance and strategic planning, and coordinates partnerships and international collaborations. In 2026, she was appointed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, leading initiatives to build a more supportive environment for the institute’s community.
She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Lisbon School of Medicine. She has worked across research, science policy, and research management, giving her a broad view of the research and higher education sector in Portugal. She has taken part in European-funded projects on institutional change, gender equality, and responsible research and innovation, and she held research management and strategic funding roles at NOVA University Lisbon. Before joining NOVA IMSB, she served as Adviser for Science and European Affairs at the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
