Cláudia Queiroga has a degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Always fascinated by the brain she decided to focus on neuroscience and completed a PhD in Neuroscience with specific interest in cerebral ischemia and the therapeutic potential of carbon monoxide in low doses, from the ITQB/IBET/CEDOC-UNL, with Dr Paula Alves and Dr Helena Vieira. After a PosDoc fellowship on the same area, Cláudia transited to industry, to work on a non-promotional international project to improve the pre and in-hospital processes during the stroke treatment, assuming positions both in the field and on the management side of the work, national and internally. After 7 years, Cláudia is back to her “home”, excited to be part of the construction of a new center.
At NOVA IMSB, she coordinates the Clinical Science Initiative, supporting the interface between clinical practice and biomedical research and fostering structured collaborations that accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into patient benefit.
