Isabel Vitorino holds a degree in Information Management and Statistics from NOVA Information Management School and has pursued extensive training in the management of science and technology activities. She brings 36 years of experience at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal’s national science funding agency, including 16 years in leadership roles. Until March 2023, she served as Director of the Support Department for R&D Institutions, overseeing the full life cycle of funding for R&D institutions, research infrastructures and scientific employment under National and European programmes.
Since 1 September 2023, Isabel Vitorino has been Director of Technical and Administrative Services at NOVA IMSB. She coordinates the Institute’s administrative and technical teams, with a strong focus on human resources, particularly the recruitment of researchers. She also oversees the management of administrative facilities and public procurement, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the efficient and sustainable operation of the Institute.
