Yesterday, Cláudia Nunes dos Santos, Vice-Director for Research and Group Leader at the NOVA Institute for Medical Systems Biology (NIMSB), participated in an interview on Antena 1, alongside Catarina Homem, Group Leader at NOVA Medical School.

The interview focused on their most recent research projects, both recently awarded ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) Grants, addressing complementary challenges in the field of Parkinson’s disease.

Cláudia Nunes dos Santos’ ERC PoC project aims to establish a brain-on-chip methodology as an innovative platform to test novel small molecules with therapeutic potential for Parkinson’s disease, contributing to the development of more predictive and translational experimental models.

The joint presence of two ERC PoC awardees in the same interview underscores an important moment for Portuguese biomedical research, reflecting its scientific quality, international competitiveness, and growing impact in addressing complex neurodegenerative diseases.
