On July 1, 2025, the NIMSB had the pleasure of taking part in the 2nd General Meeting organized by LS4FUTURE at Escola Secundária Sebastião e Silva, in Oeiras. The event brought together over 200 participants from the four member institutions — ITQB NOVA, NMS/NIMSB, iBET, and IPO — as well as representatives from national science policy and regional authorities. This annual meeting serves as a key moment for reflection, alignment, and celebration. As LS4FUTURE aptly described, the event offered an opportunity “to reflect on our vision and mission as an Associate Laboratory, as well as on our scientific achievements and future strategic goals.”
NIMSB was represented across a wide range of activities and scientific contributions:
Scientific Talk
Our Scientific Director, Professor António Jacinto,
delivered a research lecture on Cell Reprogramming and Regeneration,
presenting key findings and perspectives from his lab’s work on regenerative biology.
Technological Platforms
NIMSB’s advanced technological capabilities were also present,
with Cláudia Queiroga representing our platforms and contributing to discussions
around innovation infrastructure and cross-institute collaboration.
Poster Presentations
Ongoing research from both the António Jacinto Lab
and the Cláudia Nunes dos Santos Lab was presented during the poster sessions.
Posters were shared by researchers Inês Figueira, Rute Salvador, and Rita
Pereira, reflecting the breadth of NIMSB’s work—from systems biology and development to precision medicine and cancer research.
Organizational Involvement
NIMSB also contributed to the event’s success through the voluntary support of our Communication Office, which assisted with event organization and logistics.
The meeting fostered meaningful exchanges between researchers, reinforced the shared mission of the LS4FUTURE consortium, and highlighted the value of inter-institutional collaboration.
NIMSB is proud to be part of this dynamic scientific community and looks forward to contributing to its future initiatives.
